New!

For the past two months the place where I'm employed has been remodelling the lobby. As the receptionist, it's been interesting to watch the progress. Watching the old be removed and the new being built, there has been: mud, dust, paint, electricians, carpenters and interior designers.
Something else that has been fun to observe is watching my co-workers. So many of them quietly make their way to the front, just to get a glimpse. They want to see if there has been any changes since they last checked. The transformation has been slow: from a dark, dated book store to a bright and modern global office. It looks completely different, but most are pleased with the changes; myself included.

People are usually intrigued in anything new. Including a new born baby. Recently I held my latest grandchild in my arms. I enjoyed watching his facial expressions and the contentment in his face. I enjoyed stroking his soft skin and letting his tiny fingers curl around mine while he slept. He is so precious and innocent. A new life with so much potential!  There's no baggage or wounds from the past. He has a clean slate, a fresh start.

No matter how old we become, there is always an opportunity to a experience new life.

"... anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
