love

As he held me close to him I heard him say,

"I just just love you so much! I can't help it."

I looked up and saw tears streaming down his cheeks and a smile on his face.

I gently wiped his tears, wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him as tight as I could.

"Thank you for loving me like you do!"

What a blessing & a treasure!

All of us love those that love us.

“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!  And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!" ~ Luke 6:32-34

Jesus also said:

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked."

Love your enemies! How is that even possible? It goes against our human nature. 
I fail at times to show self sacrificing love to those whom I know love me!
But through our Lord, it is possible to love like Him.

"...God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to us."

~ Rom 5:5b

What a gift!
