I weary of all the complaining about weather...
"It's SO HOT out there!"
- Isn't summer supposed to be hot?
"When will it stop snowing?!"
"When will it stop snowing?!"
- If it's going to be cold outside we might as well enjoy the beautiful white falling flakes covering the barrenness of winter.
"Rain, rain, rain".
- I love the sound, the smell and how rain refreshes.
My favorite is thunderstorms. The electricity in the air, the powerful booms that follow and the strong & unstoppable wind.
All weather fascinates me: rain, snow, sleet, hail, tornadoes, hurricanes etc.
I'm not talking about the disaster and death that it can bring, but I appreciate the one who created it, the display of power that can not be controlled by humans.
It gives me comfort that the creator of all, who is so powerful, holds me safely in his 'hand'.
God desires us to dwell on him when we experience nature of any kind.
The beauty of sunsets, the intricacy of insects, the creativity of his diverse animal kingdom.
Stand outside at dark, far from a city and look out at the vast universe and realize how teeny we are on this small sphere spinning in the cosmos!
I don't want to get so caught up in my self made routine that I don't appreciate the beautiful creation all around me!
including the weather.
I'm not perfect, so I do slip once in awhile, but I'm trying to enjoy each of the four seasons and the distinct beauty in each one.
